Verify an attestation

An attestation is evidence, and evidence should be checkable by strangers. This page shows a specimen and the procedure anyone can run against a real one — without our systems, and without our permission.

The procedure. Recompute the file’s fingerprint on your own machine and compare it to the one above. Validate each timestamp token against its authority’s published certificate chain. Confirm the entry’s position in the exported ledger and that the sequence is unbroken. Confirm the identity binding in the attestation matches the person before you.

A match identifies the exact file. A mismatch proves the file is not the one relied upon.

Every step runs on your machine, from the export alone. At launch, this page carries the full published procedure and a downloadable specimen.
